Our motto: COURAGE TO LIVE LIFE FULLY

Courage is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. Some define courage as lacking fear in a situation that would normally generate it. Others, in contrast, hold that courage requires one to have fear and then overcome it. It’s worldwide accompanying symbol is that of the lion.

At Lionheart Académie, we believe that everyone can fully realize their potential through
the magic of the arts. Whether our students are, or grow up to be, a school teacher, physician, research assistant, or stay-at-home parent, we cannot achieve a full life without
courage! The arts, in whatever shape or form, be it music, painting, drama, or dance, instills in its students a sense of self discipline and accomplishment that is carried into all other facets of our daily lives. We become deeper thinkers, develop creativity and imagination, broaden social skills, foster emotional health, and advance physical well being.

Today music and the mind research is known as the “most rapidly developing field of human study,” according to recent reports from the Royal Institute of Great Britain, home to 14 Nobel Prize scientists.

Here’s why: Children exposed to the arts for three hours on three days a week through one full year are:

  • 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement
  • 3 times more likely to be elected to class office within their schools
  • 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair
  • 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance
  • 4 times more likely to win an award for writing an essay or a poem

Our goal is not to grow child artists, but artistic children. Through the power of the arts,
a person can find themselves, and become all that they dream and hope for with the
courage that arts education provides.

Some of our favorite quotes on courage,
and what we believe at Lionheart Académie:

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Mark Twain

A timid person is frightened before a danger, a coward during the time, and a courageous person afterward.
Jean Paul Richter
German author (1763 - 1825)
Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you’re scared to death.
Harold Wilson
(1916 - 1995)
Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared.
Eddie Rickenbacker

Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway.
John Wayne (1907 - 1979)
